This clockwork mechanism was designed based on an orrery. An orrery in its simplest form is a device illustrating the position and motion of the planets as they rotate around the sun. Besides being operated by a motor and microchip the thing that makes this one different from the first orrery created in 1704 is that every rotation of the earth gear my twitter is updated. Society’s desire to understand and explain things ultimately leads to the over simplification of our lives. This machine helps me 140 characters at a time.
