In 1984 at the Hackers' Conference Stewart Brand told Steve Wozniak, "On the one hand information wants to be expensive, because it's so valuable. The right information in the right place just changes your life." As the computer ushered in the Information Age all types of media have become more accessible, yet interfaces have grown in complexity. "Information wants to be Free" highlights the chasm between the consumer and producer in a black box world.
